Engaged Encounter run residential weekends at various venues, offering engaged couples an opportunity to explore together their attitudes, feelings, hopes and fears about important areas of their relationship. Married couples share from their personal experiences, indicating that marriage has to be worked at. Honest communication and mutual decision-making are just two ways suggested to build strong foundations for a lifetime commitment. There is no group discussion. CWR (Crusade for World Revival) run Preparing for Marriage weekends for Christian couples coming to marriage for the first time. The course is based on the belief that marriages built on God’s blueprint, found in the scriptures, are designed to be ‘a touch of heaven on earth’. Topics include risk factors, sex and sexuality, causes of breakdown, conflict, financial traps, and understanding one’s partner. Couples discuss points raised in private. £295 per couple.
